Payalh Agarwwal “Somia” is a perfect example of what a woman can do irrespective of the ups and downs of life — if she really wants.
Born in a typical Marwari Agarwwal family from Darjeeling where women are supposed to stay at home and raise a family, Payalh faced many ups and downs to prove herself equal if not better than the men around her. Starting off as an educationist, she pursued a career in insurance and event management before launching her own restaurant and tea startup.
She is today a tea entrepreneur. She launched her own brand of tea called “Chaiom” which offers more than 150 blends of tea to suit every taste.
Under Payalh’s leadership, Chaiom has served over 20 million cups of tea to people in over 20 countries all over the world. Chaiom’s USP is that it has been bringing a new flavour in the market every month since 2017.
Chaiom’s list of satisfied clients today includes the who’s who in the corporate and real world.

Payalh speaks five languages, and has travelled over 21 countries. Her whirlwind journeys all over the world have taught her that all is not bad in the world.
