To enhance farmers’ income, reduce cultivation costs and promote modern agricultural practices, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched a scheme for providing small agricultural implements on 50 percent subsidy to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Small, Marginal and Women Sugarcane Farmers. The initiative aims to encourage mechanization in sugarcane cultivation and improve farm productivity.
The scheme is intended to support resource-constrained farmers by enabling them to adopt modern agricultural equipment, thereby reducing labour costs and making sugarcane farming more efficient and profitable.
Priority will be given to SC/ST, Small, Marginal and Women Sugarcane Farmers, with a minimum 33 percent participation of SC/ST and women beneficiaries. Eligible farmers will receive a 50 percent subsidy on approved small agricultural implements costing up to ₹5,000. The subsidy amount will be shared equally by the Cane Cooperative Society and the Cane Development Council.
Applications will be invited online through the SGK Portal, and beneficiaries will be selected transparently on a “First Come, First Served” basis. Applicants must be registered members of the concerned Cane Cooperative Society, regular sugarcane suppliers and non-defaulters. Aadhaar Card, land records, caste certificate, bank passbook and a recent photograph will be required for application.
