Filmmaker Manish Vatssalya is planning a titled webseries ‘Hanak’ on the life and times of gangster Vikas Dubey who was killed allegedly in police encounter.
The filmmaker who is highly skilled in crime and political thrillers said he felt bound to show the paradigm of the social compass. He was drawn towards the story of Vikas as he represented the vice of society and his story can be used to stress the way good triumphs over evil.
Even though Vikas has not finalized his cast, a photo of actor Akshay Kumar in the get-up of Vikas Dubey flaunting a paunch has gone viral.
Manish said he was approached with the concept and the structure of the story but its nuances have to be conceived. The story-line will largely depend on facts which are in public domain or non-classified police records. Once the details fall into their logical place, the actors who fit the bill will be approached.
Filming begins in October this year. Due to social distancing regulations, the new norms will be adhered and adopted without compromising on the artistic canvas, he said.
The web series will be produced by Aditya Kashyap and Awadhesh Tiwari while the story has been penned by Mridul Kapil and Subodh Pandey.
