Towards a new political era

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors—Plato

At present every country in the world is facing leadership crisis irrespective of whether it is a developed country or a developing country. The reason being given for this crisis is “Bad Governance” & “Poor Political Conditions”. It’s ironic that world over politicians are the most criticized species and yet the people re-elect them and give them the right to exploit them and their wealth.

One wonders at the fact that something (politics) that was meant to serve the people has now become an extremely powerful place to be in. So what has brought the decline in this social service branch which had the stalwarts like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and many more…Ideally if we look at it then we would see that the reason for the existence of a government or any political system is to create and maintain the well-being of its people. Hence, the power of a political system depends on two things, firstly, the quality of its leaders & secondly an effective system to create awareness in the people about their personal responsibilities.

A good leader has the consciousness of serving others rather than have a desire to hold any position or have power. His success finds its proof when people acknowledge the practical experience of well-being. The art of good governance depends on the level of virtue within the leader, because above all, leaders need to have self-control, vision and honesty as integral parts of their nature. Hence one must always remember that a violent leader will breed a violent public & an honest leader will create contented people. Those leaders who succeed in making individuals aware of their own personal responsibilities are the ones who rule over the hearts of millions. Today no father, mother, president, saint or a guru, can give or guarantee constant well-being.

The onus is on us i.e. the public themselves to understand & work ourselves out for our own peace & happiness consistently. Hence the need of hour is that both leaders and people should recognise that the priority for well-being is not economics, but it lies in correct education & constant awareness.

despair

Since time immemorial we have been brought up to believe that money guarantees influence, position, happiness and regard from others. But now we need to bring a change in such thinking, because nothing external can create the internal well-being which is really lacking in our society.

Our education needs to be centred on inner morality & on the awareness of ethical behavior.

Remember!! if a person is right with himself he will be right with others too, and goodness will automatically emerge in him.

Today we are witnessing fall of many governments, empires, kingships, and democracies across the world. The reason behind their collapse is because the values and aims of both the leaders and people are not clean. The seed of difficulties in our system is the lack of awareness and practice of values such as cooperation, honesty, serving, self-examination and self-discipline. This is mainly because since childhood we have been taught to compete fiercely in order to succeed rather than to develop individual talents to complement each other; to possess and accumulate more as a means of security rather than sharing our resources and realizing that security comes when there is unity, a sense of belonging among everyone in the society. This ignorance towards values brings sufferings to humanity due to which vices are created bringing further misery to our lives.

The basis of understanding what is right depends on the realization that there are eternal laws of right and wrong. The acceptance or non-acceptance of these laws brings their own inevitable consequences. Today, we are at a point in time when truth is especially needed to correct the corrupt economic, political, and religious systems and to cure the many inner sicknesses of the people. The reason why there are rich and poor is not simply economic or physical resources but the greed of those who have to keep having more and more for their own selfish motives.

It is said that god is truth, if so, then his power, role and identity needs to be recognized to put back the system of human life on the right track because only HE has the power to purify the illusions and vices within all the souls & help them to remember their original state of purity; their original home of eternal silence; their original civilization on the earth the Golden Age and to remember their original parent. This process of purification of an individual through knowledge and a link with Almighty Supreme is the basic foundation for creating an effective & powerful external system. This politics of the soul, of the inner self has to be learnt before any effective external political system can come into existence.

So let us start this revolution by sowing the seeds of transformation in our mind, attitude, our vision towards others and ultimately spread it to the whole world.
