Dr Malini Saba was born in a family of modest means. Her parents instilled in her a deep-rooted feeling of compassion and empathy for the less fortunate children of God. Hence from her early childhood, Malini started giving food, clothes, and books to the less fortunate ones living in the orphanages and spending time with them.
This made her realize what success means and instilled in her a strong conviction, determination, work ethics and can-do attitude.
Malini is self-made Businesswomen and the founder & chairman of Saba Group a privately-held Group of 15 companies- with over 5,000 employees. Her business empire spans 10 verticals in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, gold mining, entertainment, real estate, hospitality sectors and technology in more than 20 countries all over the world.
Dr. Saba has an extensive experience of business background in international, multi-cultural environments and a deep understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets.
Dr Saba is also the founder of Saba Entertainment Group that produces, partners and invests in projects in television, film, music, sports, media, apps and multimedia. It supports established as well as emerging directors and producers with an emphasis on multicultural and women-centric projects.
Today Malini Saba is an ardent philanthropist, fitness enthusiast, author, passionate human & social rights activist and a global advocate for women and girls. She has helped millions of underserved women and children in South and Southeast Asia, South America, Africa and the U.S. to gain access to life-saving medical, educational services and achieves economic stability. ‘50 per cent’ of the profit raised by ‘Saba Group’ goes into Dr Saba’s philanthropic activities, which supports education, health, art and culture, livelihood generation and human rights.
Both as a creator and transformer, Dr. Malini Saba has played the role of a shepherd while guiding the Saba Group into new areas in her own unique style as the helmswoman as well as heart and souls of the Saba Group. She is known for her humane and solitary nature. She takes every effort to shun the arch lights and does many things in obscurity.
As a successful businesswoman, writer, and researcher, Malini wants to work relentlessly to provide preventive healthcare solution to women and children and do things for their social and economic upliftment. Dr Saba continues to speak in global forums and intends to impact policies globally.
She also devoted her time to writing “The Abbreviated Cook,” a compilation of quick and easy recipes on traditional South and Southeast Asian dishes.
Dr Malini Saba is an advocate for underprivileged people and aims to help one billion people through ‘Anannke Foundation’ an umbrella organization which she has launched for her philanthropic activities focusing on healthcare, education and human rights. The organisation regularly arranges global food drives, funds scholarships, builds schools, provides healthcare facilities and plans to distribute the COVID-19 free to the people in need in different parts of the world. To do so, Saba has partnered with Bill Clinton Foundation, Stanford Medical Center, YUVA, CARE International, the Concern Worldwide Program, Mother Teresa Foundation, Women refugee commission and other such philanthropic organizations.
Dr Saba recently founded a social media community ‘TheSingleWorkingMother’ to empower and support single working mothers who wish to re-enter the workforce.
Dr Saba received the Kalpana Chawla 2005 award for ‘Outstanding Woman Of The Year’, Mother Theresa award in 2004, Ambassador Of Peace award 2007 from the federation of peace, London, Entrepreneur Of The Year – Business Women’s Network Washington D.C (2001), Philanthropist Of The Year award by “Pratham’ an NGO promoting education in 2005, and Genty hall of fame award- Philanthropist of the year award 2017.
