Border Security Force (BSF) jawans recently recovered 10 kg of heroin valued at Rs.50 Crore in the international market from the India-Pakistan border in the Amritsar sector, The packets were buried in fields close to the electrified fence near the border. The latest seizure, adds up to 52 kg heroin seized this year. Last year the BSF had seized 361 kg of heroin from the Punjab sector.

Instances of looting of cash vans are on the rise. In all about 6,000 cash vans operate across the country and carry
approximately INR 15,000 crore in cash every day. Some of the companies hold cash worth approximately 4,000 crore
in their vaults overnight on behalf of the banks.
