Prakash Jha’s Pareeksha to premiere at Shanghai International Film Festival

Famed award-winning filmmaker’s ‘Pareeksha-The Final Test’, which had its India premiere at the 50th International Film Festival of India held in Goa, is to make its International Premiere at the prestigious 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

The film is also set to premiere on ZEE5 on 6 August.

Originally scheduled to take place in June, Shanghai International Film Festival was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will be held physically from 25 July to 2 August 2020.

The film will have three screenings, 26 July, 28 July, and 1 August.

Starring Priyanka Bose, Adil Hussain, Sanjay Suri and child actor Shubham Jha, the film had its India Premiere at the 50th International Film Festival of India in the Indian Panorama section and will have its UK premiere at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF).

Written, directed and produced by Jha, ‘Pareeksha – The Final Test’ which is inspired by real events makes a sharp comment on the education system. Prakash Jha told taazakhabarnews.com that good quality education, which has become the monopoly of the rich, remains inaccessible to the masses. Resonating from the real experience of an IPS officer Abhayanand, who is the former DGP of Bihar, this story gives a glimpse of hope for the poor who deserve the opportunity.

Talking about the international premiere at SIFF, Jha said “It’s a great honour for our film, Pareeksha to have its international premiere at one of the biggest and most prestigious film festivals in South Asia.We are delighted that the festival is taking place physically and our film will actually be screened in theatres.”Pareeksha working Still 1

Known nationally and internationally for his critically acclaimed and popular political and socially relevant films including Raajneeti, Apaharan, Gangaajal, Mrityudand, Parinati and Damul. He has also played cameo roles in ‘Jai Gangaajal’ in 2016 and ‘Saand ki aankh’ early this year. ‘Saand ki aankh’ was also based on a real incident.
