At a time when the world is facing an economic slowdown, Indian economy is the only shining beacon. Even the World Bank has confirmed that Indian economy will post 7.5% growth this year despite a bad monsoon. Coupled with the Yuan crash in China a few days back today the world investors and MNCs are all lined up to invest in India. Any other country and its politicians would have jumped to this chance since these types of opportunities only knock on your door once. But Indian politicians especially Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party did not allow the Monsoon session of Parliament to function despite the fact that some 62 bills concerning the Indian economic reforms and other major issues were held up.
In any mature democracy, the opposition comment and criticise the policies of the government in power so that things that are good for the people are implemented. The debates and discussions take place in the parliament. There is no throwing of charges at each other at street corners and public rallies. The Congress party did not allow the parliament to function on the demand of sacking of two Chief Ministers and one union minister of the ruling party. If this precedence is allowed then it is almost impossible to satisfy all these parties on all issues and that will be the end of democracy in India and no bill ever will be passed.
In this type of negative politics the people who suffer are the people of India the aam adami. The land acquisition Bill, the GST Bill, the labour reforms Bill all directly affecting Indian economy and urgently needed for the reforms could not be passed. Needless to say, we are missing the bus for foreign investment and the window is closing fast. Mr Rahul Gandhi is adamant that in winter session also he will not allow the parliament to function. So what is the option against this type of negative behaviour? It is ok that by such action Rahul Gandhi and his advisors are taking their party to such nadir that it never will be able to bounce back from there. People of India specially the youth will never forgive him. But then that is his problem and his party’s problem but why should country suffer from this negative politics?
Today with 80 crore youth India is the youngest country in the world. These youth need jobs for which the country must progress fast and create jobs. With the grace of God, we are well placed to generate these jobs if we carry out quick reforms and pass these bills. This is God sent opportunity. Also, the petroleum prices in the world have drastically come down. India, the second largest importer of the crude oil in the world, is well placed here also. All that is needed for the country to burst forward is a political consensus that likes of Rahul Gandhi and some opposition leaders deny because of their negative politics and stupidity. What these people are opposing reforms and busy in SUIT –BOOT talk are not understanding is that today’s Indian polity with 71% literacy is not fooled. Besides the youth do not have patience. They will not allow their generation to be wasted on whims and fancies of these netas. If this negative politics in India does not come to an end soon there soon will be anarchy in the country with have nots looting the haves and even these netas will not be spared. If they think that their police escorts will save them, then they are sadly mistaken. Nobody in the world can stand and face the mob fury. So Rahul Gandhi and his ilk, please come to your senses. Allow Parliament to function and debate these reforms bills threadbare with logic. Please use brains in place of brawn before it is too late. People of India are watching you and they will not sit quietly for long.
