73rd Anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings

Exactly 73 years ago — on 6th and 9th August 1945 American B-29 bombers dropped the first and only two atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki – killing around 214,000 people- mostly civilians. Since then every year on August 6, the City of Hiroshima observes a Ceremony in memory of the victims of atomic bombings and pray for everlasting world peace. The program starts with bells ringing in the temples and sirens wailing throughout the city at 8:15 A.M. on August 6– the exact moment when the atomic bomb was dropped.
